At Cameron-Davies we take great pride in the quality of our eye care. Our fully-qualified optometrists are given a generous amount of time to examine each patient with the latest high-tech instrumentation. This enables them to provide in-depth superior quality ocular examinations to all age groups.
We also provide the following eye care services:-
Although our optometrists carry out all the requisite standard procedures during every eye examination, they also enjoy the freedom when examining our Eyeplan & private patients, to carry out whichever more extensive tests they deem necessary.
These may include:-
The fundus is the name for the inside of the back of the eye. It contains many of the parts of the eye that are important for vision, so needs to be thoroughly checked out during an eye examination. Problems such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease can be spotted here.
Using a fundus camera, our experienced optometrists take a high quality digital image of this area which they then show to you on a computer screen. They study it in detail and save the image to refer back to in the future. Often they need to decide whether there are changes taking place in the eye; a photo is a really useful high-tech way of monitoring this and helping to identify new ocular health issues.
We offer NHS eye examinations to all those that are entitled, which include all required checks, but not necessarily the supplementary procedures listed above. However, most of our NHS patients enjoy the benefits from these extra tests by upgrading to our ‘enhanced examination’ for a small supplementary fee.
